چکیده

We have previously reported that transforming growth factor-@, (TGF-@,) inhibits interleukin-6 (IL-6) induction by IL-2 and IL-l in fresh human monocytes. We investigated the effects of TGF-P, on the expression of tumoricidal activity induced by IL-2 or interferon-y (IFN-y) in human monocytes. We showed that TGF-@, specifically inhibited, in a dose-dependent manner, IL-2-induced but not IFN-y-induced monocyte tumoricidal activity. The inhibitory effects of TGFp, on IL-2-activated monocytes were not caused by downmodulation of the IL-2 receptor @ (IL-ZR@) because the treatment of monocytes with IL-2 and TGF-@, increased IL-2RP mRNA expression. However, we found that TGF-@, down-

Human Leukocyte Antigen-G Expression on Dendritic Cells Induced by Transforming Growth Factor-β1 and CD4+ T Cells Proliferation

Background: During antigen capture and processing, mature dendritic cells (DC) express large amounts of peptide-MHC complexes and accessory molecules on their surface. DC are antigen-presenting cells that have an important role in tolerance and autoimmunity. The transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-β1) cytokine has a regulatory role on the immune and non-immune cells. The aim of this study is ...

Interaction of Mycobacterium tuberculosis-induced transforming growth factor beta1 and interleukin-10.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is associated with the activation of cytokine circuits both at sites of active tuberculosis in vivo and in cultures of mononuclear cells stimulated by M. tuberculosis or its components in vitro. Interactive stimulatory and/or inhibitory pathways are established between cytokines, which may result in potentiation or attenuation of the effects of each molecule on T-cell...

Effects of Different Concentrations of Opium on the Secretion of ‎Interleukin-6, Interferon-γ and Transforming Growth Factor Beta Cytokines ‎from Jurkat Cells

Background: The risk of infectious, autoimmune and immunodeficiency diseases and cancers rise in opioid addicts due to changes in innate and acquired immune responses. Three types of opioid receptors (К،δ،μ) are expressed on the surface of lymphocytes and mononuclear phagocytes. The present study was designed to examine the effects of different concentrations of opium on the secretion of some c...

The Effect of Beta Interferon on Dendritic Cells and Cytokine Synthesis by CD4+ T Cells

Background: Dendritic cells (DC) are a key regulator of the immune response, and interferon- beta (IFN-β) is considered an immunomodulatory molecule for DC. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of IFN-β treated DC to induce cytokine secretion by CD4+ T cells. Methods: Dendritic cells were generated from blood monocytes with granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating fac...

Interleukin-2 and human monocyte activation.

The recognition of the monocyte/macrophage-activating properties of IL-2 has broadened our image of the biological effects of this lymphokine from those of a T cell growth factor to those of a molecule with pleiotropic effects. The detailed analysis of the mechanisms of action of IL-2 including its biological effects on different cell types and the regulation of its receptors has increased dram...
